Angus Soft Fruits - New Data Centre

Description

With recent developments in the data centre infrastructure, Angus Soft Fruits has been working to modernise their network architecture to support their growing business needs.

The project involved the design and implementation of a new data centre, including the expansion of the network infrastructure, the reconfiguration of Fortinet firewalls, and the creation of redundant site-to-site VPNs. The solution was designed with security in mind, following a "Secure By Design" approach and implementing a "Deny by Default" policy.

The network expansion included the deployment of Dell OpenNetwork switches, the implementation of traffic prioritisation, and the use of variable length subnetting and vLANs to optimise network performance. The data centre was also equipped with a Hyper-V cluster, Microsoft Azure integration, iSCSI storage, and 10/25 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

Throughout the project, I was responsible for solution design, project management, technical leadership, solution implementation, stakeholder management, and vendor management.

The successful completion of this project has resulted in a more robust and secure network infrastructure for Angus Soft Fruits, enabling them to support their growing business needs and future-proof their operations.
